We suck! We're not in any top ten social media agency lists!
As an agency, it's pretty standard that we're asked by a potential client why we don't feature on any top ten lists for social media or SEO.
The short answer is 1. We don't want to pay to feature (oops), and 2. We're a competitor (what?).
Oh, the drama. Haha.
If you Google "Social Media Agency" as of the 23rd November, we rank organically second. That's amazing. It proves how great we are at SEO, plus that we're probably a safe bet for your social media if Google is trusting us.
It's a bit weird the first result of "Social Media Agency" is a top ten list of social media agencies in the UK, and we're not on there... We're not claiming we're the best by any means. How could anyone possibly know? We have happy clients who recommend us and good long term relationships. We tick along nicely and get great results for our clients.
We've never been contacted about our clients or results for an opportunity to feature on the list.
Many other websites reach out asking us if we'd like to pay A LOT OF MONEY to feature in a top ten list. If we want a place in position one or two, we'd need to take out a mortgage.
But how weird that we've never been asked by the list that ranks above us? Just to see if our results are a contender. Considering we rank first on most social media related searches? We're easy to be found.
Now, if you look closely at the list, you'll notice the winning agency sitting at number one is actually number one in all of their lists.. And they have the same name as the website it's hosted on... Which happens to be a social media agency.
It’s sneaky but very smart. We're just jealous we didn't think of it as an SEO tactic in a way, but in another, it wouldn't sit right with us.
No wonder we've never been asked to feature.
