The best Celebrity/Influencer/Social Media agencies of 2021
When you’re Googling for a social media agency to help with your brand, you may find the first page of Google spammed with index companies providing lists of the “best” agencies.
We’ve been in the industry a long time and we’re pretty sure we have got to grips with which social media agencies are great and not so, a common trend is the agencies we know that are great and doing amazing things will never be mentioned? Why?
We’re not saying this to be bitter (Spoiler: We’re not on any), we’d love to be listed on “Best Social Media Agency”, who wouldn’t?
We’re writing this to warn you that these lists may not be as genuine as you might think. These websites are 95% of the time a place where an agency will pay very hefty annual fee to be indexed on the website, essentially a new form of yellow pages. It’s a directory of agencies where you produce a profile in hopes of being found by potential clients. These websites always rank very high so it makes complete sense.
This makes a trend of many agencies wanting to join so they can get seen on key search terms which can be hard to rank on… But it will cost them.
Another benefit on paying to be listed on the directory sites is that they produce many, many pages titled:
“best [insert agency type'] agency in [location]/[year']”
These lists will only feature those… You guessed it, who pay.
We’re not saying the agencies listed aren’t great but simply warning you that these lists are not created due to the authentic work produced, reviews and reputation. They’re based on the premise that the agency is a paying customer and this is one of the big benefits of paying a huge annual fee. The H1 tag of “Best Social Media Agency in London” is a very highly searched term, it’s simply a traffic trap.
If you ever see Honest London listed on a social media, SEO, celebrity, influencer page… We can assure you that we didn’t pay for our spot!
